It’s London Fashion Week and at Outsider we don’t design only for one season, our designs are versatile, flexible and trans seasonal. So we really question the need for fashion weeks based on seasons at all. Wouldn’t one showcase a year of beautiful timeless trans seasonal pieces be more meaningful?
We did showcase our timeless organic cotton shirt dress at the Regenerative fashion show at LFW in 2023, but that won't stop us still selling this style year after year! So I guess the answer is fashion week doesn't mean much to a sustainable brand, we're offering you longevity!
This February 2025 the British Fashion Council announced new sustainability standards for New Gen brands showing at LFW which is a promising start, from 2026 these new standards will apply to all designers. As we've had sustainability standards since we started in 2009, we hope these are embraced by brands in a joined up and authentic way.
For example, we have always designed for longevity, instead of trying to keep up with fast moving trends and let’s face it unpredictable seasons that we have these days! When you’re thinking about buying something new, we suggest you invest in a piece that will see you through the whole year.
For example, our silk shirt dress is light enough for the summer that can be layered for autumn.
Another example is our Maxi shirt dress which can be worn on its own in spring and laid over another dress for winter and to create more looks so much fun!
And our essential cardigan will see you through the changing temperatures and go with any outfit you have.
We are offering all our customers 50% off any order over £100 in January and February so if you see something you need, something you will wear a lot, mend and love, simply type code: 50FF at the checkout.
